It would be great if the handicap secretary could enter the required cards (played on the home course(s)) for handicapping purposes and have the system calculate the correct handicap. We have 3 h/cap secretaries who all do it slightly differently.

CONGU have advised us that this type of facility to automatically calculate the first handicap award is explicitly excluded from the CONGU 2012 UHS system and software must not perform this calculation, as it is decision of the handicapping committee of the club.

To be able to enter an Away Score using a score card, hole by hole (like normal entry) and for the software, providing the course score card information has been entered (Pars, SIs and SSS) in the Golf Courses section, to calculate the 19.8 adjusted score. This is already provided in entering Supplementary Scores at the Home course, so it should not be too difficult to do it for Away Scores.

We feel that since the recent introduction of the SGU and GUW Central Database of handicap systems, this means that all the Golf unions in the UK and Ireland now have national systems for the electonic exchange of away scores. This should remove the need for manaul entry of away scores in most cases.

when you issue a new handicap it is not an exact science. all scores returned at each hole are subject to rule 19, where you can score no more than a double bogey, you then take into account the amount of pars and birdies the player has scored, then it is down to the handicap secretary to use his experience and knowledge to issue a playing handicap, there is nothing exact about it, this is only a brief summary

For some of our competitions we award a prize for the Best Scratch Score and well as Best Nett, it would good to see this winner on the Competition Results report. Also, at prize-giving time, it would good to see these winners on the Competition Winners Report.

At the moment there is only the option to set 3 compeition fees. We often run a two's comp, sweep and 2 comps together which requires 4 fees entries.

Sometimes if both players in a knockout competition fail to play their match before the time allocated, we eliminate both players. At the moment the system forces you to choose one player to go through.

Reasons for Disqualification from a competition [updated]

There are reasons for disqualifying a player from a competition that don't have an R&A rule. For example failed to put name on the competition entry sheet. It would be useful if we could have a free type area to show the reason a player was disqualified if it is not an R & A rule.

The problem is that we need to show that the member has submitted his scorecard so if we remove them from the competition we will end up with members asking what happened to their scorecard. Maybe we could have a section at the end of the competition to allow us to enter a list of members who submitted cards but were treated as not an acceptable score and the reason why.

I've done this manually for years via exporting each comps scorecard breakdown into .rtf then into excel but now the save as .rtf is bloated and slow.

We have a fairly casual society where we run a 2 competitions at one, a singles competition, as well as a Best 2 from 4 at the same time. Would be useful to be able to get the results from both

It may sound a bit old fashioned but we have a board used for our open comps where the results are filled in by hand, to do this we have to make up our own spread sheet annoying when the Hmaster start sheets allready have this info les the gross handicap and nett boxes.

We run 3 seasonal cups throughout the year each of 2 rounds, an additional trophy is awarded to the player with the 3 best rounds counting his best individual score from each cup ie a player could still win the overall trophy as long as he has played at least 1 round in each cup. It would be handy to report this online.

Allow players to just "enter" a competition (with no reference to a time but a choice of how many in a group to allow team entry), once entered, we could produce either: a shotgun start list from players entered (as a team) or a randomly drawn draw. We would need the facility to be able to alter tees drawn (e.g. to put the Captain off his preferred tee or make sure older players don't have to walk to the other end of the course to start). As an additional benefit, this could also cover forward booking into knockout competition.
